Hey Oppo,

I’m headed to San Diego next month, and I’m looking for advice on food and drink within walking distance of the gas lamp quarter. What’s your pick? Have a different kind of plate for your time.

3rd most Maine license plate behind “WikdGud” and “Ayuh”.

As for San Diego food and booze, I’m (as per usual) useless.

My personal favorite is on a local retired state police crown Vic: “NOTACOP”

There are a ton of restaurants in the gaslamp district. I was on travel at some point a couple of years ago and stayed in a hotel around there. You really cant go wrong with most of the places in there. The one place I remember was Hodad’s which is a burger joint with license plates covering the walls. That was pretty darn good for a simple filling meal. Theres also a really good taco and guac place down on Harbor Drive, I think it was called Puesto?
